The Sports Committee at Nahar International School stands as the heartbeat of our school’s sporting spirit — a team that leads with integrity, plays with passion, and believes that true victory lies not just in winning, but in growing together. Guided by our credo, “We lead by example, play with integrity, and win with humility,” we see sports as more than competition; it is a way to build character, unity, and resilience. Every event, every match, and every practice is a chance to learn teamwork, discipline, and respect — values that define our athletes both on and off the field.
The members of the Sports Committee carry the responsibility of representing the school with pride and sportsmanship, whether on home ground or in inter-school arenas. They are role models who uphold the school’s spirit of fairness, inclusivity, and enthusiasm. As the face of discipline and energy on the playground, they ensure that every student finds encouragement to participate, every player feels valued, and every effort is recognized.
The Sports Captain and Vice-Captain serve as the vital link between players, mentors, and the school’s leadership. They guide their peers to work together, think together, and celebrate together as one proud Nahar team. From organizing and leading practices, managing inter-house events, and coordinating match preparations, to resolving playground issues with maturity and fairness — their work reflects balance, responsibility, and commitment. They also ensure that every sporting activity runs smoothly, with respect for all participants and appreciation for every role, big or small.
Beyond organizing games, the committee works to create a vibrant sporting environment that promotes health, camaraderie, and confidence. Members embody a non-discriminatory and positive outlook, setting an example in punctuality, teamwork, and academic balance. Their uniform and badge symbolize not just their position, but the pride of representing a community that values integrity and resilience.
At its core, the Sports Committee is more than a leadership body — it is a family that celebrates effort, learns from setbacks, and strives to bring out the best in everyone. Every student who wears the Nahar jersey carries the belief that strength lies in unity, that respect defines greatness, and that every loss teaches a lesson worth remembering. Together, they build not just athletes, but individuals who stand tall with courage, humility, and heart.
Meet the Committee Leaders
Hear from our Committee captains. Hear from the leaders behind the action and discover the team driving our athletic community forward.

As Sports Captains, our aim is to build a culture of healthy competition where every student pushes each other to grow while still enjoying the game. At the same time, we want every participant to feel valued, supported, and celebrated for their effort. We are equally committed to tackling gender bias by ensuring equal opportunities, respect, and recognition for all athletes, on and off the field.

Adithya Bharathiraja
Sports Captain

As sports captain, I took on my role to be able to create a support system for the athletes of NIS. Us captains aim to create a space free of gendered stereotypes and a healthy environment where sports can act as channels to express ourselves.

Malini Mukherjea
Sports Captain

I want sports to feel like a safe and welcoming space for everyone, free from pressure and outdated gender expectations. For me, this role is about being approachable, supporting my teammates when they need it, and helping create a culture where sports aren’t just about winning, but about confidence, expression, and feeling like you belong.
